Our brother in-law says that ever time we come here to visit. And this was no exception. The only difference this time was that we are now here to stay!

We’ve retired and brought our beast, Thor, along with us – not a simple task in itself. But more on that later – probably from Thor himself, as he can explain it best.

We arrived here on May 22, 2013 and have been very busy getting everything settled. While most of our apartment is already furnished from previous stays, there was still the matter of getting a moped, refrigerator, Microwave/Oven combo, a closet and a new couch. Then there is our Son’s wedding reception to attend to on the 7th of July: finalizing the menu, decorations, invitations, payments, etc.

Driving a car here is just insane. Traffic is bad most all of the time, we see Porches, Jaguars, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lamborghini, Ferraris and the like all speeding along at 25kph (at best), while mopeds, bicycles, and foot traffic make better time. So we opted for a moped, and let me say, driving it is fun, exciting, and scary all at the same time. You never know when a car, person, bicycle or other moped is going to jump out in front of you. With the three of us on there, it can be life on the edge.

There will be more blog posts soon about all that has happened, is happening and will happen. And with this new site software and theme we should be about to dual-language post many of them in English and Simplified Chinese so both sides of the ocean can follow along.
