2014 Flower Show

Just last week the weather was nice, not too hot, not too cold, and a little overcast. It was perfect for going exploring outdoors and taking pictures. A few weeks earlier, the 2014 Flower Show at the Shanghai Botanical Gardens opened. Being it was a Friday, and most people were at work, and it had already been a while since it started, we figured that was the best time to go and miss the crowds.

As for the crowds, we timed it just perfectly. For as we were arriving, all the elementary school children were boarding their field-trip buses to get back to school before it was done for the day. It was 2pm.

As for the flowers and displays, it was near-perfect. A week earlier would have been ideal as most of the tulips had already lost their ‘lips’. But all the other flowers were still in full bloom.

It’s only a 20 min bus ride to the Gardens, and we spent a delightful 2 hours there just wandering around taking in all the beauty.

So, without further delay, here is a slideshow of many (but not all) of the gardens. Enjoy
