Temple of Peace and Tranquility

Even though located in the middle bustling Shanghai, the Jing’an Temple was indeed Peaceful and Tranquil. Today, my lovely wife and I visited this temple while the water tanks in our apartment building were being cleaned – thus we were without water most of the day. Below is a slideshow of some of the photos we took of the place. We hope you enjoy them, and be sure to check out the Wikipedia link above for history on this magnificent temple. This is the ‘Droid you’re looking for…

So…I spent a few months trying to build a small PC for my wife’s parents. It was an interesting task trying to find the best prices and the right parts to put together a really nice system for them. However, it turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated. We tried local stores for parts and complete systems. But we could not find exactly what I wanted at a good price. It didn’t help that I’m an American – we tend to get overcharged in China. Online was not much better. The prices were better, but getting exactly what Continue Reading →

Mamma Mia – The Musical

Screenplay by Catherine Johnson and music by ABBA. You’ve not experienced Mamma Mia until you’ve seen it in its original Mandarin. 🙂 Sorry for the cryptic Star Trek sub-reference. Happy Anniversary!!!

Today is our wonderful 9th Wedding Anniversary!!! So, with a dozen beautiful fresh red roses, I took my lovely wife out to dinner. We went to a little new Taiwanese Hot Pot restaurant called “Gong Bao”. It’s nestled under the steps of the Shanghai Stadium right outside of CenturyMart convenience store. We had a wonderful dinner. Just the two of us. And the restaurant was very clean and professional – although they did have problems keeping the place cool with it being 95 outside and all the hot pots boiling away inside. Anyway, thought we’d share!
